This bi-annual art prize was established to amplify the voices and creative contributions of Latinx artists, a community historically underrepresented in the art world. The prize includes a $50,000 grant and a solo exhibition in El Museo del Barrio’s Room 110, a multidisciplinary gallery space dedicated to contemporary expression. Welcoming nominations of Latinx artists from across the United States and Puerto Rico, the prize is adjudicated by a panel of distinguished curators and art experts, with the goal of shining a national spotlight on the diverse talent within the Latinx artistic community.

His compelling and thought-provoking work challenges audiences and leaves a lasting impact on both the art world and cultural discourse.

The next recipient of the Maestro Dobel Latinx Art Prize will be announced in Fall 2025, with the corresponding exhibition set to open in Spring 2026. Maestro Dobel has long championed the creative spirit that defines both its Mexican homeland and its award-winning tequilas. Through initiatives like the Latinx Art Prize, Dobel continues to extend its commitment to craftsmanship, cultural celebration, and artistic innovation.
