A Legacy of Giving: The Beckmann Foundation's Commitment to the Community
The Beckmann Foundation is the primary philanthropic organization of the Beckmann family, owners of Maestro Dobel Tequila. The Maestro Dobel brand was created and named in 2008 after its founder, Juan Domingo Beckmann Legorreta. The name "Dobel" is a unique acronym formed from the first syllables of his name: Domingo Beckmann Legorreta. He founded the brand in collaboration with master distillers Marco Anguiano and Luis Yerenas.
The foundation builds on the multi-generational philanthropic history of the Beckmann family, working toward the sustainable and inclusive development of Mexico. Perfecting the craft of tequila-making in the the oldest distillery in the Americas, its efforts are centered on supporting the community of Tequila, Jalisco, and other nearby communities within the Agave plantation landscape. The foundation is guided by four strategic pillars: Education, Health and Wellness, Culture, and Social Innovation.
The foundation's commitment began with a vision to transform the town of Tequila into a stronger, more prosperous community by developing tourism infrastructure, which was intended to be a main economic booster. This effort led to the town being designated a "Pueblo Mágico" (Magical Town) in 2003, followed by a UNESCO World Heritage site distinction in 2006. The foundation supported this transformation through initiatives like the donation of land for a municipal cemetery, and investments in water and street infrastructure.

Empowering the Community Through Flagship Projects
The Beckmann Foundation’s guiding purpose is to design and execute sustainable, impactful, and efficient programs.

It also conducts sight exams for thousands of children in elementary schools, providing eyeglasses to those in need.
